Termination and discontinuation of the tiko service in Switzerland

Please consult our FAQ below

The tiko service was introduced in Switzerland in 2014. Unfortunately, it is no longer economically viable to operate it, so we are forced to discontinue it. We thank you for your loyalty over the past few years.

Your heating control remains fully functional even after termination. The control devices can remain in place and do not need to be uninstalled. Functions such as alarming, monitoring and Ecomode, which were offered through the tiko system, will no longer be available after termination. Your heating system remains unchanged and continues to work as it did before the tiko system was installed.

After termination, heating optimization and remote control by tiko will no longer be possible. However, your heating system will continue to work according to the set parameters.

After termination, you can no longer use the tiko app and the web portal to monitor or remotely control your system. All functions of the app, the web portal and the tiko system (alarming; monitoring; consumption optimization; Ecomode) are deactivated. A deactivated tiko installation is in a safe static state, which has no effect on the electrical circuit of your systems. Your systems therefore continue to work without restriction according to the device-specific controls and their settings. The web portal will remain available for a limited period after termination to enable the purpose of downloading data. After that, the web portal will be shut down completely.

All data collected by tiko is treated in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations; all personal data will be deleted.

Yes, you have the option of downloading your data via the web portal until the cut-off date. Simply log in to the tiko website and export your data as an Excel or CSV file. Please note that this export is only possible via the web portal and not via the mobile app.

It is not necessary to return the control device (M-Box). It can be disposed of properly by your local electronics retailer. (Disposal costs are already included in the production costs in accordance with EU directives.)

Since the control devices in the distribution box are in a safe mode and have no effect on the electrical circuit of your premises, they can remain in place. It is therefore not necessary to uninstall them upon cancellation. In the event that uninstallation of the control device is nevertheless desired, the participant shall bear the costs. After the tiko service has been discontinued, such uninstallation can be carried out without prior consultation with tiko.
The removed control devices (K-Boxes) do not have to be returned after uninstallation. They can be disposed of by your local electrical retailer. (In accordance with EU directives, the disposal costs are already included in the production costs.)

Your solar panels and battery will remain unchanged even after the tiko service has been discontinued, and will continue to function as they did before the tiko system was installed.

Your heating system will continue to work efficiently without the tiko control, based on the heating settings. The tiko system only gave you the option of switching the heating on and off; the heating was always controlled by the heating system itself.

There are numerous providers offering comparable services in the areas of heating control, heating optimization, PV optimization and maximizing self-consumption. You may seek advice from a specialized energy consultant or installer about suitable alternatives.

tiko is currently not planning to resume our services in Switzerland.

tiko devices cannot be connected to other systems. For reasons of cybersecurity and data protection, they are specially designed for the tiko network and are therefore not compatible with other heating controls or energy management systems.
